Bologna is the main city of the Emilia Romagna, situated at the limit of the Padana Plain, on the border with the Apennine. A city with ancient origins (IX century b.C.), it reached its maximum of splendour with the Municipal Age, in the Middle Ages and was annexed to the Reign of Italy in the 1859. Bologna is a city rich of art and history, pleasant to visit and extremely full of culture but not yet known by the tourist routes that are usually proposed in the Italian peninsula.
